Food Consumption Choices and Climate Change

Summary:

The purpose of this brief is to provide policy-relevant input and perspectives to the apparent conflict between advocating for locally grown food and policies aimed at facilitating international trade. This is done by analysing and discussing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with different food consumption patterns, where one of the available choices is to eat locally grown food.
